Production Technician | StencilFast - Roanoke, VA | $19/hr starting wage
You've driven over our stencils. You've landed on runways marked by them. You've cheered on a sports field painted with them. Now, be the person who cuts and ships them to these locations all across the United States.
At StencilFast, the Production Technician is where the work actually happens: hands on the machines, eyes on the details, building the stencils that mark roads, runways, and fields all over the country. If you like working with your hands, moving fast, and seeing something real come off the line every single day, this is the place for you.
About Us
StencilFast is the industry leader in precision-cut, hassle-free stencils for roads, airports, and athletic fields across the U.S. We're a small, tight-knit team that moves fast, works hard, and takes real pride in what we build. "Made in Roanoke" isn't just a label for us - it's on the line, on the pavement, and in the air, everywhere our stencils end up. If you want a job where you can see your work on the roads you drive and around the world, this is the place for you.
Who You Are:
- You're hardworking and show up every day, taking pride in a job done right.
- You thrive in a fast-paced shop setting, not an office, where no two days look the same.
- You value teamwork over everything and work well with a small team that has each other's backs.
- You enjoy seeing your work product used around the world.
What You Will Do:
- Run our CNC Machines: Load stencil materials onto CNC machines and monitor them as they run, checking cuts and making adjustments to keep production running smooth and uninterrupted.
- Maintain your station: Clear stencil debris and vacuum down the machine between every run, leaving it prepared for the next cycle.
- Package and ship: Sort and package finished stencils to spec, label them accurately, and make sure what ships matches what the customer ordered.
- Quality Checks: Compare finished stencils against work orders and quality checklists - if something's off, catch it and flag it before it leaves the building.
- Keep the floor running safe: Follow all safety procedures, keep your workspace clean and organized, and handle scrap and recycling the right way to maintain a safe working environment for the team.
What You Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong work ethic and the drive to show up for your team.
- Comfortable being on your feet and moving stencil materials for a full shift.
- Basic comfort with a computer for simple data entry and file selection.
Nice-to-Haves (But Not Required):
- Experience with CNC machines, shop tools, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with general production processes and industrial safety.
- Any hands-on trade, mechanical, or shop-class background.
